Nobody handed me my teams. I am the first son of an immigrant family, and sport did not come with the furniture. I picked my first team from a hat in a schoolyard and grew into the choice.

Then came more than two decades of work with owners and leaders, and hundreds of Paper Napkin Wisdom conversations. The same pattern kept showing up. Results that left when the person did.

This is the book I have wanted to write for most of that time. It took a thirty-year study and a season that proved the thesis by subtraction. It is the one I am most impatient to put in your hands.
